Terms of Service
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Eolas mobile application ("the App"), operated by Labrax Technologies Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Ireland.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
These Terms are governed by Irish law and applicable European Union law, including the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the Digital Content Directive (2019/770/EU).
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the App with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
2.2 Account Registration
To use the App, you must create an account using one of the following methods:
- Email and password
- Apple Sign-In
- Google Sign-In
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Description of Service
Eolas is an AI-powered coaching platform that provides access to a team of specialised AI coaches across different life domains, including career, fitness, wellness, relationships, and habit formation. Each coach has a distinct personality, area of expertise, and voice.
The App's features include:
- AI coaching conversations — text and voice-based interactions with AI coaches
- Goal tracking — set, track, and complete goals with coaching support
- Voice interactions — speak to coaches and hear voiced responses
- Weekly reflections — summaries of your coaching progress (premium)
- Cross-coach insights — shared context between coaches for holistic coaching (premium)
4. Subscription Tiers
4.1 Free Tier
The free tier provides:
- Access to 3 coaches (Maya, Riley, and Ellis)
- Up to 10 messages per day
- Core coaching and goal-tracking features
4.2 Premium Tier
The premium tier provides:
- Access to all 15 coaches
- Unlimited messages
- Weekly reflections
- Cross-coach insights
- All current and future premium features
4.3 Billing & Payments
- Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device
- Subscription management, including cancellation, is handled through your App Store or Google Play account
- We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements
- We do not directly process or store your payment information
- Prices are displayed in your local currency within the App and may vary by region
4.4 Free Trial
If a free trial is offered, it will be clearly indicated before purchase. Your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand through your App Store or Google Play settings.
4.5 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
5. AI Coaching Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: Please read this section carefully.
5.1 Not Professional Advice
The AI coaches in Eolas are powered by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). The coaching provided is for informational and personal development purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice, including but not limited to:
- Mental health or psychological counselling
- Medical or healthcare advice
- Financial or investment advice
- Legal advice
- Emergency services
You should always consult qualified professionals for matters requiring professional expertise.
5.2 No Guarantee of Outcomes
We do not guarantee that the coaching will achieve any specific outcome. The effectiveness of coaching depends on many factors, including your engagement, circumstances, and the nature of the topics discussed.
5.3 AI Limitations
AI coaches may occasionally:
- Provide responses that are inaccurate, incomplete, or not applicable to your situation
- Misunderstand context or nuance in your messages
- Generate responses that are inconsistent across sessions
You should exercise your own judgement when acting on any coaching guidance.
5.4 Crisis Situations
The App is not designed for crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of self-harm, or any emergency, please contact:

The AI coaches may recognise crisis signals and encourage you to seek professional support, but they are not equipped to provide emergency assistance.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the service — use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Attempt to circumvent restrictions — bypass subscription tier limitations, message limits, or access controls
- Interfere with the service — attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the App's infrastructure
- Reverse engineer — decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer any part of the App
- Automate access — use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to interact with the App
- Impersonate others — misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Share harmful content — use the App to generate, store, or transmit content that is illegal, abusive, threatening, or violates the rights of others
- Exploit AI coaches — attempt to manipulate AI coaches to produce harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
- Redistribute content — copy, reproduce, or redistribute AI-generated coaching responses for commercial purposes
7. Your Content
7.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you create and share within the App, including your messages, goals, and profile information.
7.2 Licence to Us
By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content as necessary to provide the service, including:
- Storing your messages and goals in our database
- Sending your messages to AI service providers to generate coaching responses
- Sending coach response text to voice synthesis services
- Processing your audio recordings for transcription
This licence exists solely to operate the App and does not grant us the right to use your content for any other purpose.
7.3 AI-Generated Content
Responses generated by AI coaches are provided as part of the service. You may use these responses for your personal benefit. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated responses provided to you, but we also make no guarantees about their accuracy or suitability.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Property
The App, including its design, code, branding, coach personalities, voice configurations, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Labrax Technologies Limited or its licensors. All rights are reserved.
8.2 Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without written permission
- Extract or reuse coach personalities, system prompts, or AI configurations
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
10. Account Termination
10.1 Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time from the App:
- Go to Profile > Delete Account
- Confirm your identity
- All your data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted
Before deleting your account, ensure you cancel any active subscription through the App Store or Google Play to avoid continued billing.
10.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour
- Your continued use poses a risk to other users or the service
- We are required to do so by law
We will provide reasonable notice where possible, except in cases of serious violation.
10.3 Effect of Termination
Upon account termination:
- Your access to the App will cease
- All your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Any active subscription should be cancelled separately through the App Store or Google Play
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 Service Availability
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free.
11.2 Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including Irish and EU consumer protection law:
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App
- Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for any actions you take based on AI coaching guidance
11.3 Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including:
- Liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any other liability that cannot be excluded under Irish or EU law
- Your statutory consumer rights under EU consumer protection law
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Labrax Technologies Limited, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your misuse of the App
- Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
13.2 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland, unless you are a consumer in the EU, in which case you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
13.3 EU Online Dispute Resolution
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr to attempt to resolve any disputes.
14. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms:
- Firebase / Google Cloud — Google Cloud Terms of Service
- Anthropic Claude — Anthropic's Terms of Service
- ElevenLabs — ElevenLabs Terms of Service
- RevenueCat — RevenueCat Terms of Service
- Apple / Google — respective App Store / Google Play terms
We are not responsible for the practices or policies of these third-party services.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
- Providing in-app notification for significant changes
If you continue to use the App after changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the App and delete your account.
For material changes that affect your rights under EU consumer law, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Labrax Technologies Limited regarding your use of the App.
